Ementa: O pós-graduando deverá conhecer os métodos de estudo da toxicologia pré-clínica de substâncias bioativas, bem como a legislação que regula tais estudos, além de correlacionar os estudos toxicológicos com os farmacológicos simultaneamente. Conteúdo programático: 1. Introdução e Conceitos 2. Toxicocinética (Absorção, Distribuição, Biotransformação e Excreção) 3. Toxicodinâmica e efeitos tóxicos 4. Classificação dos agentes tóxicos 5. Avaliação da taxa de risco 6. Testes Toxicológicos - Teste de atividade geral (hipocrático de atividades), toxicologia aguda, subaguda e crônica: alterações comportamentais, alterações de peso e ingesta sólida e líquida, DL50, dosagens bioquímicas e hematológicas, histopatologia de órgãos vitais. Análise da Legislação que regulamenta os testes farmacológicos e toxicológicos pré-clínicos. Métodos de estudo em toxicologia pré-clínica: principais protocolos experimentais.
