The Graduate Program in Physics (PPGF) of the Federal University of Piauí (UFPI) began its activities in 2008 with the master's course. Since then, scientific production has reached the heights of course grade 4 (CAPES-Brazil), the program has graduated masters in a good number and significantly improved its infrastructure. As a result, the course received grade 4 in the 2017 four-year assessment. Thus, by the end of 2018, the PPGF had its approved doctoral course and started activities with its first class in 2019.1.
