The Nursing Graduate Program (PPGEnf) at Federal University of Piauí (UFPI) began with the Academic Master's Degree in 2007. It received grade 4 by CAPES in the 2010/2012 biennial evaluation and in December 2013 the Nursing Doctoral Degree was created and approved. In 2020, PPGEnf/UFPI reached grade 5 in the CAPES quadrennial evaluation. The Program's Field of Study is Nursing in Social Context, which has two Lines of Research: 1. Care Process in Health and Nursing and 2. Social-Educational Nursing Policies and Practices. All of these demonstrate an extensive scope, consistency, coherence, and adequacy of the Field of Study and the Line of Research with the Program proposal. The Program has 25 courses in total, which are organized into 10 required courses and 15 electives. The Master’s Degree includes 06 required courses of 45h each (18 credits) (02 of them are electives for the Doctoral Degree) and the Doctoral Degree includes 04 required courses divided into 02 of 60h and 02 of 45h (14 credits). Three (03) out of the 15 elective courses are offered only in the Doctorate Degree: 01 of these courses has 45h (03 credits) and the other 02 have 30h each (04 credits). The remaining 12 elective courses are offered in both Master’s and Doctorate Degrees. Ten (10) of them have 45h (30 credits) and 02 have 30h each (04 credits).
